quick bonnet latch question
Hi, I've got the CBS rubber type bonnet catches and I'm
about ready to fit them
I just wondered how most people go about attaching the bracket with the rubber latch bit to the sides of the car: just bolt through the side panel or
slightly higher up so the bolts go through the top chassis rail as well as the side panel?
Thanks,
Lee

Just fitted mine...
I got one rivet in the rail the other rivet bellow the rail - broke three drills and sliped a few times arghhh.
Also these do 'stretch' as they are rubber - they stretch quite a lot realy ...
Try screwing one to a block of wood and put the top catch high and see the stretch on em

Don't go through the chassis rail. You won't have to.

cheers, tried it on piece of wood first to see how stretchy they are. I felt that going just through the side panel lower down would exert a bit too
much stretch/force on the upper latch so used Johnemms method. I've got one on and it seems spot on, no drills snapped so far
