Chassis panels on a Fury/Phoenix/GTA
Eventually I'll be getting a full body on my Haynes roadster chassis, it was never going to end up as a 7 style car and would always going to
get a full kit. But before I get that far I've got the interior panels to do.
Obviously the driver and passenger areas need to be fully panelled, but what about the engine bay? Is it still worth panelling the sides of the
chassis to protect the engine from road muck, or is it just left exposed? Or perhaps leave the engine exposed but fill in the wheel arches? Is there
anything to do for the back of the car?
The few pictures I can see of engine bays cover the full range of options, from completely exposed to fully enclosed. I guess production cars have the
wheels and the engine separated, even with older cars that aren't just a mass of plastic covers.

On a Fury, the side of the engine bay is typically panelled. Some BEC owners also panel the under tray...
...but then other owners dont'....
...personally I would panel to keep the muck out...

I didn't panel the sides on mine. The body has inner wheel arches moulded in.

I've just attached simple panels to the sill/chassis to stop the worst of the spray. the o/s chassis side has a panel just to box in the
side-pod/sill to make a storage box.

Mmmmmmm..... I may have to blow that up to poster size and put it on my garage wall for inspiration! 
But it does demonstrate something obvious, one of my future upgrades will be forced induction and not panelling things in will make it much easier. I
think I'll go for the arches built into the bonnet.
