Sun Visors and Roll Cage?
I had a quick search and couldn't find anything relating to this, but apologies if I have missed something.
What I am wanting to know is has anybody fitted sun visors to a kit car, but to a roll cage? I don’t have a windscreen to fit a sun-strip or visors to
and was trying to see if anyone has done something with their cages.
The alternative I can think of is to get a twin visor helmet; I don’t like driving with sunglasses inside my helmet since when I go through a dark
patch or tunnel/bridge etc. you lose a lot of visibility.
Any thoughts/help welcome. Cheers
Henry

Not seen it done before, but can't see why it wouldn't work if you have somewhere to mount them. My hesitation would be weakening the
roll cage by drilling holes in it to mount, but then you may be able to mount using worm drive clips or similar.
In my case I didn't have a windscreen or roll cage and wore a full face helmet whilst driving. I opted to wear shades inside the helmet on
sunny days and lived with the downsides.

I've thought about doing something similar.
A few small rivet or self tapping screw holes isn't going to weaken the cage enough to worry about

As roll cage is powdercoated and I've only had the car on the road a short time I'd probably opt for a form of bolt on clamp rather than
drill any holes.
My longacre rear view mirror is currently attached with rubber lined P-clips although it does wobble at medium to high speeds to maybe a more solid
mount for that and any potential visors would be the way forward.
Going for sun visors over the helmet option could be labelled as an "aero mod" ?! Haha

I wore the helmet as a means of eye and face protection whilst driving. Having wiped bug guts from the visor I'm glad I did. Might have looked
a bit weird, but then driving a 7 type car makes you stand out anyway.

Love the visor, that could well be a good option for mine too!
Just out of interest do you have any more photos of your roof? Looks like you've used some ally to fill in the middle section and also some roll
cage foam for head protection against the cage?
Nick205 - Yes that's why I wear a helmet at the moment, keeps my eyes protected and I know what you mean, I've had to clean mine a few
times too.

The infills are carbon. The padding is FIA spec stuff. Its actually quite hard. Its adhesive backed but I added some (semi) hidden tywraps.

That looks really good. I like that. How did you secure the carbon? Looks bolted down? Do you have little tabs welded on?

Of note, I also carried a spare helmet for passengers. This served two purposes, it gave them face protection and made it hard for them to talk to me
