Inertial belts & SVA
Hi all,
I want to use inertial seat-belts (rumoured to be difficult to get approval for harness in NZ unless you've been racing as member of x club for y
years).
But having difficulty with the mountings.
I noticed a discussion on inboard mountings. I assume that's off tube O?
Even if braced down to the trans tunnel it doesn't seem to give much lengthways bracing - ie where it'll need it if I need it. The NZHRA code of
construction manual is a little unclear on this (as all the digrams are referring to floor mounts) but the one that looks closest in plan is the one
that says in capitals "NOT ACCEPTABLE IN ANY CIRCUMSTANCES"... and "add bracing"
Anyone else got any ideas?
Thinking about bracing up w2 and mounting on there...
Which would probably end up with the body of the retractor on an angle.
Is that a bad thing??
any other ideas?
Anyone else using retractable belts?
Thanks...

Centally mounted Seatbelts

Note to all: I really don't know when to leave well alone. I tried to get clever with the mods, then when they gave me a lifeline to see the
error of my ways, I tried to incite more trouble via u2u. So now I'm banned, never to return again. They should have done it years ago!

Thanks Chris,
Sorry for the delay in reply.
That's great, pictures and everything!
Looks plenty strong enough too.
Thanks,
