paint for (rust pitted) steel wheels
As subject above, am worried the tyres will never seal - what's best paint (that I can get) to use.
Genuine steel wheel paint seems to be unbelieveably tough - I guess that's the stuff I want - it also looks as though there's a separate
primer

Actually, there's a piece of steel wheel resto in this months practical classics...
1. remove wheels
2. remove surface rust with stiff wire brush
3. remove balance weights (will need rebalancing afterwards anyway)
4. clean using power drill with wire cup brush
5. blast with air compressor blast gun
6. Clean well (Frosts engine degreaser used in article)
7. Acid etch primer
8. Wet + dry primer
9. Re-prime with more acid etch
10. Wet + dry primer
11. Top-coat #1
12. Wet + dry top-coat
13. Top-coats #2
They don't say which satin black top coat they use.
Plasticoat in my experience is quite durable.
Obviously be careful with the acid etch stuff particularly if doing it outside. Once I was spraying outside, the wind changed direction and I was
chased down the road by a cloud of acidic eye-burning grot!!!
