its still knocking

Well I renewed the big ends in my crossflow and its still knocking

Still coming from the back: oil pressure OK, ticks over without any knocking, blip the engine sometimes it starts making a noise, blip it again and it shuts up.

any more suggestions

Small ends, mains? Piston rings?

If you have play in the crank (no/loose thrust washers), it will worsen, improve as you operate the clutch





If you can keep you head, whilst all others around you are losing theirs, you are not fully aware of the situation

Did you check the crankshaft journals for wear / ovality??

I've decieded to scrap the engine and go for the other one I have. It has a single score down one barrel, but its not too deep so hopefully it'll be OK
