Windscreen (or not)
Although I'm a wee way off yet, (alright a long way if I'm honest ), I am thinking, IVA without screen (easier to acheive) then retro
fit one. What I was thinking of doing was making a small IVA-friendly moulding to go across the scuttle and fit my R1 mirrors at each side but make it
such that I can relatively easily retro-fit a screen and supports later.
Any ideas or experiences?

To be honest, the rules regarding screens/wipers/blowers etc although compeltely anal do make a LOT of sence...
So if you want to have a screen, fit it..along with the correct heater, wiper etc and put it though the SVA... If it fails (which mine did)...its a
good thing for safetys sake..
My wiper sweep was not enough... easily resolved...
Get a heated screen so you dont need a blower and a decent wiper kit... and your sorted!
Why make more work for yourself by fitting it after?

I'd tend to agree, it's a bit harder to do afterwards.
I would have said fit everything and get it working, then remove the screen and wipers/washer jets for the actual test.
Cheers,

I'm afraid I disagree,
100K for a heater (or there abouts), an extra Y amount for the wiper gubbins and the extra work involved. Why on earth would you bother before IVA?
Fit it afterwards and you only need to fit what you need, if its never going to be intentionally driven in pouring rain or freezing conditions then
why force yourself to meet these criteria?
I think your idea for mounting the mirrors is a good one.

The thing is afterwards youl need to strip it down and fit the wiper gubbins when you change so you may aswell do it from the start. as said remove
the wiper arms etc for the test then they wont be tested.
Unless you take the screen off for mot youl still need wipers and washers for that.

I was under the impression that if a windscreen was fitted it must have a demist facility (heater) and wipers too, as well as all the
'radius' restrictions for the IVA.
Any comments?

Yes!
I have fitted mine for the SVA in April. It's a total PITA to fit afterwards, as the heater/wipper motor/dimist vents all have to fit under the
dash, there is not much room. So retro fitting will not be simple.. If you are going this route plan carefully!
