Alumium Supply In Kent for Bonnet

What thickness Aluminium should i get to make my bonnet with, i will be hand bending it, also it will be painted.

Also any good suppliers in Kent, that will deal with one sheet?

I think mine was 1.5mm and I got it from SPA Aluminium in Tunbridge Wells

got mine from parker steel. 3 sheets of 8x4 foot 1.5mm half hard grade £34 a sheet and £20 for delivery. ordered sunday night arrived monday 11am.

as for forming i havent got that far yet.

if you have a suitable vehicle e.g. a van parkers will let you pickup.

be warned if you turn up expecting to take it away on a roof rack or something silly like that they will send you packing.

nice thing is when they deliver it they pack it on an 8x4 palet so it stays nice until you need to use it.

Yes, it was OK to form. I didn't heat it up or anything, just bent it gradually round a lamp post to start with.

Yup they did.....
Even though I had a sheet of 8x4 ply on the roof, they said it would overhang vehicle.
Pity the didn't say they don't load to cars.
Wouldn't even let me take the 3mtr lengths of flat.

So got it delivered to home (UK)
The driver unloaded it onto my roofrack.

Then drove 500miles down here, no problems..

Parker Steel ... Good price though..
