Plastic petrol tank leak
Hi
I have a leak in a MK petrol tank its at the top where the plate has been put in to take the sender (not fitted) it appears that the joint is leaking
when full. Whats the best thing to seal it

Cork or neoprene gasket. Deffo not silicone sealant.

Don't seal it, replace it!!!
A while ago MK had some plastic tanks made which were welded with the wrong filler, it has been well documented here. How old is your tank?
I would suggest a call to MK as they were replacing plastic tanks with ally ones.
Is your car SVA'd? If not, the plastic tank wouldn't pass IVA now, they need a certificate.
