IT's really not that complicated if you've got the right colour gelcoat (or flowcoat if you're not using an air occluding film IE
cling film). A bit of trial and error with some pigments of various %'s should get close enough... The rest is easy.... File / sand / polish and
voila....
I was worried about doing a gel coat repair but after doing 4-5 it's not stress (though I hope I never have to for obvious reasons....)....

Oh yes again Matt, lowspeed cosmetic this time.. I wasn't even in the car....
Sorry but I can fettle you and engine, rebuild your gearbox, fix a bus/truck engine but bodywork is way out of my league.
Visually its very small once I have reinforced the back but if I start trying to fix it I know it will end up needing new bodywork.

My biggest worry, having done repairs to self-pigmented expoy sheathed boats etc (simular job in many ways) is geting the pigment match right.
- Always before ive had the right pigment, or been able to get hold of it.
With the westfeild (1991, in yellow) im told the pigment that was used can no longer be made as it had nastys in it, and ofcause the car has faided to
some degree. So im just wondering how you would go about that?
- Buy a pot of about the right yellow and just add till you got the best match?
- Buy some yellow, some red, some green, and then mix mainly yellow with a bit to balence the tone?
Also, presumably if i buff it vigoraously and take half a thou of gell coat off all over, it will come up brighter? It this worth doing first? Would
it get rid of sun marks left by the previous owners stickers?
Ever curious, Daniel.
