1.8cvh tensioner

Hi all,

having just removed the water pump and tensioner, I noticed there was no tensioner spring!!

Should it have one?? Or is it adjusted to get the tension correct then tightened up??

Cheers Daz

Yes a spring about 50mm long that sits on the back ot the tensioner.

But I would think you could get by without it.

The spring is NOT necessary, but you must be able to tension the belt correctly. One quarter twist on the longest free run length using only light pressure with your thumb and index finger.

Beware of the Goldfish in the tulip mines. The ONLY defence against them is smoking peanut butter sandwiches.

Cheers Fellas

Glad to hear that, as it did run without before.

Just worried it was botched before selling on.
