Painting with aerosol

Im thinking i might chuck a quick coat of paint on the car before IVA to make it presentable.

How many cans might one expect to use on a whole car?

Where is the cheapest place to get them? I dont mind a s**t finish, just so it looks better than bare metal.

What filler should i use to smooth out all the little dents my scuttle has aquired?

How long can i resist the temptation to drop a V8 in?

skim with filler, sand down smooth. as for what type of filler, normal polyester filler from halfords?

as for spray cans, i don't know really. i know a guy, had several minis, painted them all with dulux house paint gloss and a roller lol. didn't look too bad either. could maybe give that a shot. get a litre of paint mixed from halfords, and roller it on?

not sure if there is a sam centre near you, but my one was about half the price of halfruads for a 500ml spray can, if you dont want to spend to much time ad just want it presentable maybe go with satin black, nice and easy.

land rover owners have used paint roller - notthe fluffy ones to good effect.

cheap spray paint - Poundland - gloss black, they may have other colours, £ 1 a can.

10 should be enough (cans are a fiver each from halfords)

If you decide to use aerosols, the general concensus is that you should only use the "normal" sized cans, not the extra large ones.
They keep their pressure right to the end, the bigger ones run out of propellant before they're empty
