roll bar bolts

hi guys, ive just removed the roll bar from the indy, its got the standerd single roll bar, anyway one of the bolts was bent so need some new ones. does anyone know what bolts they are and where to find them? never had to source high quality bolts before.

Well you should use as high a grade plated steel bolt as possible - at least 10.9 or better still 12.9 rather than the usual 8.8 grade used generally (look on the head and you'll see the number).

Then again unless the hoop is braced it will be more of a cosmetic item so the grade of bolt might not matter too much!!

ebay - for 12.9 cap heads unless you have a local specialist supplier

obviously you need to find the right size

normal 8.8 rated hex head bolts will do the job or 12.9 socket caps if you prefer the look.

TBH a single roll hoop with no fore or aft bracing is pretty much a cosmetic addtition as it would fold very quckly in a roll anyway. Also consider what it's bolted into - probably rivnuts set into the metal plate over the rear shocks? These would deform and pull out pretty quickly under rol impacts too.
