Hi Ash

I had a screen made up for my Caterham surround at Jat Glass in Park Royal [ 020 8961 6505].

What thickness does it need to be? Mine was 4.4mm IIRC.

Most decent glass cutters should be able to do laminated glass in 4.4 or 6mm, but the first place I approached thought the angles at the bottom would be too difficult for them to cut.

Jat Glass did it for £30. Obviously no good if you need it for IVA though as it won't be marked.

I took my cracked screen to them and they made up a copy for me to collect a few days later.

Stu

ps. wherabouts in Croxley are you? I'm looking at a house up there on Saturday!

Autoglass said they could replace mine. It would cost a mere £278 for the glass (and I'd have to fit it myself).... I went to Caterham spares in the end and took it home on the train. A little nerve-wracking but hey.

I seem to remember a locost method was to get hold of an old Fiat Panda flat screen and get it cut down by a glass place to your patter, leaving the kite mark in one corner

I did the same only problem is no "kite mark" to show it is correct grade even though it is. But this is only checked at IVA /SVA and not at MOT

Landrover Defender is the Same - i.e Flat Glass. windscreen New about 50quid from BritPart agent
