Side Mirrors

Do the side mirrors need to be the type that fold when hit to pass the IVA?

The reason I'm asking is that I just bought a pair for pennies off fleabay (that are just on a pivot) to replace the R1 types I have after I managed to crack the driver's side one (posted on a previous thread).

I think they only need to fold if they are the widest thing on the car, if within a line, outside edge of the arches I think OK.

Why do I have to make the tools to finish the job? More time then money.

If you're at all worried about it, I have a spare R1 drivers side going spare you can have for the cost of p&p if you want it. It's c/f look though.

I've since bought a new pair of plain black mirrors to replace both sides on my Indy.
