Hammerite onto stainless - etch primer or none?

As per the title, I want to paint some stainless on the front of the car, and was going to use satin Hammerite as I have loads and it seems a nice thick finish. Should I use etch primer or just paint straight to metal?

I already have a can of primer there but don't know how the Hammerite will like it, any help appreciated
Cheers

Hammerite make a purpose made primer in spay and brush form, I have used it with good results. If in doubt use unprimed with 2 coats.
