Bonnet Catches
Do I need to use rubber bonnet catches to pass an IVA?
also do people hinge one side and do you put anything on the inside to strengthen the GRP bonnet?

The rubber catches seem to be the most popular choice although for what they are they're bloody expensive (best part of £40 for 4!!
I've also seen the flush fit aero catches in use before.
You could hinge it but access is probably easier and quicker with a removable bonnet.

yes rubber bonnet catches or you can use flush fit stuff like dzus fasteners
no hinge on most though some like fozzie have a hinge down the middle, and no strengthening, though there is no reason why couldn't add someone
if it would make you happier

As catches go i think they are a very good method. I know your talking IVA rather than sva but mine sailed through but maybe its worth giving the guys
from CBS a call to ask as im sure they are clued up on them. I too dont get how they are so expensive and its a shame as i want a second bonnet which
is only £100 but then if i get the catches aswell its another £30-40 and imo its to expensive for just a track bonnet
