Fuel pipes Zetec ZX9

Im fitting a Zetec with zx9 carbs and have came to fitting the fuel lines, i have fitted 8mm lines however at the tank end i have had to fit a length of about 1ft in 6mm due to the tank pickup been 6mm, will this be ok? or will it be restricted too much?

lots of people use solid copper which is 8mm o.d. and this doesn't limit flow too much. You should be fine.

1litre per minute would give you an easy 180bhp, so just check the flow out of the pump at the carbs end if you are worried. This doesn't account for flow reduction in the carbs (i.e. the valves) but its a good start.
