GBS/robin hood doors

I am pretty sure that I will order a GBS screen and fit to the car.

I thought that I will also want a side screen/door at the same time, to ensure it all lines up.

Has anyone got any experience of the GBS/robin hood doors?

Does Mango on here not still make them?

I bought my screen surround from him (you source the glass locally) and it was a lovely bit of kit.

I'm not sure about the current situation with it's new owners but I've always been a little dubious of the quality of Robin Hood stuff. It certainly has got a lot of unkind reviews from people on here who've actually bought it!

Cheers,
James

I have been in touch with him. I believe that he does not make them regularly anymore, but he did very hindly offer to make part of it I get the materials.

The GBS one seems to be dirt cheap though. It comes in a kit form, how wrong could it be?
I did not think that their windscreens had bad reviews, I thought that was their exhausts.
That said i may collect to check before I pay.
It is a long way to travel though, so I thought I would check first.

The main problem with the RBS ones is that they leave you with a lot of work to do. Basically, they sell you the top extrusion with 2 bends (although they are the toughest bends to do) and a shaped lower extrusion. They leave it to you to cut the sides to length and fit the pieces together. They are also 'Robin Hood sized' so it's worth checking that it will match your car.

Some RH builders expect something a little more 'finished', hence you'll see a lot of criticism. I have a link at home that explains very well how to put one together - I can post that tonight, if required (and if I can find it again).

Despite all that - I also have a mango windscreen!

The last link I mentioned was full of advice on fitting glass to a frame, which is why I saved it.

UPDATE

Found the link >>> here <<<.

I don't doubt that mango's screen would be of superior quality (and better fit).

But I was hoping for a quick bolt on. (i.e. a complete kit), and thought that the GBS screen was actually a pretty good match for the locost.
From looking through past posts it also seems that screens are fairly interchangable between different kits

May just wait till stoneleigh and have a look at the screens and doors.
