Chassis material depth
Quick answer needed please, people!
I'm trying to order some Dzus fastners for my nosecone (idea borrowed from an earlier thread). I'm told that to calculate the length of
stud required, add together the thicknesses of the panels being fastened, and add 7mm for the receptacle. Round up or down to the nearest mm to obtain
the length required.
So, I was planning on putting the fastner through the fibreglass lip of the nosecone and into the box section of my GTS - does anyone know the
thicknes of panels and the wall depth of the box? I'd really like to get these ordered today or tomorrow morning at the latest, so please help
me out!
Cheers y'all.

Dave, this was actually stemmed from your thread earlier! I'll probably be ordering my fasteners from Demon Thieves (expensive, but I only need
a few so can bury the cost on this occasion);
http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/Store/Motorsport/Fasteners/Quick_Release_Fasteners/Dzus_Panex_Range_D_Ring_Fastener/1550/2340
If the box section is 1.6mm thick, I'm allowing 2mm for the thickness of nosecone fibreglass, and add 7mm which is circa 11mm, but the nearest I
can find is a 12mm length, so I'll be giving them a go.
Hope this helps!

Just can't see that you remove the nosecone or scuttle enough to warrant their use!
The only time I've taken the nose cone off was when I changed the entire cooling system and radiator! And I've *never* taken the scuttle
off.
Ok, scuttle will have to come off when I fit screen/wipers etc.... but that's hardly frequent!
And if you don't set Dzus well then they can be a real pain to engage and can pop out of their own accord.
Just my opinion though.
Cheers,
James
