Upper seat belt mount height measurement
Hi ya, with my seats bolted in my seat belt mounts sit aprox 10mm lower than what they shoud do for i.v.a.
Now my question is where do they get there height damum from?
Is it fron the seat belt mount it self or the seat belt as my thinking was to put a 10mm spacer between the seatbelt and the mount if that makes
sense
All advise welcome

Spacers were acceptable for SVA. I assume they still are. I've seen pictures of some that passed with huge spacers (2" or 3"?) that
couldn't have been strong enough not to bend but passed the regs'. Of course I expect they soon "fell off".

Thanks for the reply, looks like there is hope.
I will wait to see if any more comments, then try to find some kind of spacers.

Again, for SVA, they would put a square with a beam of the correct height attached, into the seat. Can't remember the size of the square sorry,
but the beam was tilted in the plane the spine would be in iirc.
So they take the measurement from where your bum would be, to where the belts are mounted (ie the centre of the eye bolt).
Again, for SVA, spacers were allowed as long as the design was safe. You are effectively mounting them on the end of a cantilever so it should be as
short as poss.
What king of seats do you have?
Shell type best as they are lowest.
I mounted mine in the rollover bar.

Block of wood 147 long x 53 high line straight up from the top front edge 450mm, line straight back to mounts
If your seats have runners remove them and bolt direct to floor.
If not make the seat base as flat as possible, this should bring the front edge of the block down.
Re weld longer mounts with support webs
