Our postie tells me that the local sorting office is stacked out with parcels. He recons that the sorters are deliberately stock-piling them so they can cram in a pile of last minute overtime!

I had stuff not turn up at work. Called in at sorting office, 'definately not there sir' (after a search)
Spoke to one of the posties that I know,

- he delivered it next day.

coincedence, of course

I've had most stuff delayed by at least 2-3 days and often more - I reckon the backlog is still giving the P.O. a hard time.

Cheers,

As a former postie I'll put money on parcels still being stacked up in stillages in the mail centres (larger depots) They simply do not have the man power any more to cope with Christams let alone any back log. Remember the strikes, that was because 20 out of every 100 jobs where cut across the board. 3-4 years ago there where 5 artic trailers full of unsorted parcels parked up at Boreham (chelmsford) they where not found untill they where sent for their tests in Jan.

some stuff has arrived, others no where in sight

last thing that came was utterly smashed and delivered to my wife in her hand without a word. (parcel ripped half way through, really gave the impression they coulsnt care less that they'd destroyed the contents. (claim now going through via vendor - parcel well packed and covered in please ber careful fragile notes)

local delivery guy also occasionally leaves things on the window ledge of the porch in open view of the street,

its a nice areas but really thats well out of order. how do you complain about a delivery man? and will he just lose all my stuff from then onwards?

Even if only to stop him doing it
