Vortx RT+ The build has started!

This is my first post on here, so would like to say hi to all to start with. It has always been my dream to build a 7style kit and december 2010 that dream became reality when i picked my kit up from Chris and Marc on a cold snowy saturday morning.
The aim is to finish by June this year but ive just started nights for a month so that will hamper things alittle.
As you will see ive gone for an RT+ chassis with full cage and powered by a 2008 CBR1000RR fireblade engine, there is a long way to go but im very impressed so far of the quality of the kit, i just hope it stays that way and i can make MNR proud by the end!

Heres hopefully a few pics of the build so far ( if it works )

Paul

Thanks Gavin, when im off these night shifts i will get myself along to one of the meets.

Intentions for the car are to be more track focused, and maybe go on to race it if i can get the budget together, but for now trackdays and sprints will be the flavour.

It's a lot easier to sort out the pedal box before you put all the bodywork on

Welcome to the forum.
I think your build time will be about 1/10 of mine if you finish when you expect!

Hugh

welcome good to see some new builds
Is that a extra brace i can see on your lower engine mount?, i guess becuase the stand offs are so far from the chassis

can i ask why you went for CBR motor over the tried and trusted R1 but it's nice to see something different

ditto with fitting the pedal box pre bodywork

Hi, I went for the CBR based on the advise that Chris gave me at MNR, they have had alot of trouble with 2008 onwards R1 motors blowing up, plus the 2008 onward CBR motors are damn fine bits of kit with the added bonus of Honda realibility, granted that spares will be more expensive because it Honda but hopefully that wont be issue!

Pedal box is my next job when i get back out there, you know how it is, you think ' i'll just do this little bit' 2 hours later the body was on!

Just a quick thought... Looks like your lower front wishbones are on the wrong way up, the circlip holding in the shperical bearing should be facing down!

Looks good so far!
