shaping of the windscreen frame
Hi
Please help I need to know how to bend the windscreen frame at the corners without causing a kink. I have cut the pattern with 9mm MDF a little
nervous if this the right method or not?
Many thanks Axle

You need to make 'the tool' as shown in Uncle Ron's book.
Or see if anyone has one they have finished with and buy that.
Tell them about the bent treacle edges!

A bit of heat helps but to much as it is soft ally.
If you do get a slight kink you can file back flat then use wet & Dry followed by metal polish, comes up nice.

If you use heat to soften the ali, use soap as a heat indicator. Ordinary hand soap rubbed on the ali will turn dark brown/black at the right heat.
Remove heat as soon as the colour changes. You can repeat the process, i.e more soap & more heat

Thank you all , I am just going to use the heat and the soap method to bend it round the MDF as this is going to be the template for my windscreen. if
anyone see any draw back to this method please shout now!!!!!!!!!
Once again thank you all for your inputs!
Best regards Axle

Thanks for the offer I am going to have a go in making the tool, what should the diameter of the rolling wheel be, is it 50mm does it matter if it was
45mm?
