body panels
hi all. as im still relatively new to this fantastic hobbie im still in the process of finding out where the best places are to buy parts from.. im
thinking of changing my aluminum body panels for the grp ones.. is this worth doing ie for weight reasons or just for cosmetics? and where can i buy
them from to fit a book locost?.... thanks

Aluminium panels will be significantly lighter than most GRP equivalents. What's cosmetically better about GRP anyway? Surely you can just
fill/paint the ali if it needs tarting up.

I'd stick with ali too... a good bit lighter and (IMHO) looks better!

GRP panels are a good upgrade i upgraded my ali panels the grp ones look much better and are easier to look after.
one downside. they increase the weight by about 2kg per side panels.
upside. much stronger.
thanks

Its all about prep with the alloy, you need an etch primper first but that is about it

surely it depends on how thin the ali was and how thick the grp is? if it s2kg a side heavier im guessing its quite a bit thicker and therfore
probably stronger?
