Weather Gear

I am having some problems with fitting the frame for the hood to the car. Can anyone give me any advice as to fixing the frame. The ends have a swivel fixing with a threaded hole. Do I need a special mount? Also what is the best way to work out the windscreen position prior to fixing in place.

thanks

SI
