Mud gaurd brackets

I have my front mudguards mounted on two x 3/8 round bar stays with 1 1/4 flat bar bent under the fiber glass mudgaurds.
Problem is, they vibrate like hell on bumps and to the extent that they sometimes hit the tyre !
They feel real strong but are obviously not strong enough.
Any sugestions as to a really strong design ?

brace the two round bars togethor and pick up off the top ball joint mounting by drilling a hole big enough for the joint to pass thru, worked for me..........

The MK one is virtually what I have now.
I like the idea of bracing between the two legs and attaching to top ball joint, I'll have a look at how I could do that.

Cheers all
