How much paint for a 7?
As above I'm about to embark on my quest to paint my car, but have no clue with regards to how much paint I need?
I was looking at a 2.5l tin of celly top coat which would give 5l when thinned, does this seem about right for a seven?
Would this be the same if using 2k or will it be less due to fewer coats req?
cheers
Steve

should be ok if you dont have to sand and repaint any of the panels.
I painted the bonnet, rear panel, nose cone, wings with 1.5 litres and i messed the back panel up and thats 3 coats.....
Thanks

sounds right to me too. 2.5L will do a small car

I'm almost at that stage too. Mine is going to be 2-colour, about 55/45 split in terms of area. So I was reckoning on 2L primer, 1L for each of
the colours + 5L thinners (I'm using cellulose solid colours). Hopefully it should be enough, but it sounds like I may need to add 1/2L of each
colour though.
I was thinking of going with Jaywell Paints in the Midlands, only £9 for postage on that lot

Do note that 'some' colours have bugger all hiding/covering ability,
as in they will either require a Base coat OR 'Several' coatings before what's underneath is no longer visible.

Have you thought about having it wrapped? No crazing or cracking.... Well within reason.

Cheers thought 2.5l would be enough!
Dixie, I have already wrapped parts of it but am just not happy with the finish, i've had a couple of bits done professionally too to see if it
was my fists of ham that was the issue. I also doubt its durability too, i've caught bits when moving around the garage and has just gone
through, at least with paint you can polish out/touch up.
