Try your local sheet metal work shop, take pound notes and a set of measurements and walk away with exactly what you want.

Fair point I didn't add the VAT. But if the mail order places are at the bottom end of the quote what the hell are the local dealers doing?

This is who I buy all my aluminium products from. I don't know the current price for 1.2mm and 2mm but £200 seems very high. I may check on prices tomorrow to see what discount I get.

If you can live with an odd scratch or edge damage the sometimes they will sell a sheet @ 1/2 price.

Too be honest al I want is seconds or scuffed even predrilled mistake sheet as the tank wont be seen and will be cutting to varius sizes and the 1.2 is forside pannes and suports for bonnet and scuttle which all wi be painted so no biggi ill phone around n ask for and scuffed or damaged sheets.
Cheers guys n best price so far was 121.90 deliverd for 2x1 meter of 2mm and same size in 1.2mm so a sheet of each which I hope should do it.

Just had prices back from Aalco:

1 off 2m x 1m x 1.2mm ally £ 26.80/sht
1 off 2m x 1m x 2mm ally, £ 34.75/sht
poly coated 1 side. 1050A H14

Add £19 carriage and then VAT gives £96.66 total.

As has been said, best to find a fab shop that will do it pound notes. They'll guillotine it for a few quid as well.

They did sell it a while back cheap.

i just got a load of 16 gauge 1" box there at 1/2 the price of scunthorpe where its made. (£9 per 5 mtr length)

Last time I bought Ali i got it from metal supermarkets just of JN27 of m62 and got scratched sheets 8x4' at £20.
