Off topic question

Sorry to bother you chaps with a non-car question, but I figured I can't go wrong asking the people on site.
Last night while talking to a friend the subject of currency came up. Does England still use pound sterling or the euro or a mixture of both.
In the posts I read I see the symbol I always thought was for the English pound.

everything is on topic here!

We are one of the 3 countries in the EU (before recent enlargement) that didnt adopt the euro.

govt want to - but they know the public wouldnt vote for it. It will sneak up on us eventually when people gradually accept it....

The government seem to be the only people that like the Euro, we English can be very patriotic when it comes to stuff like changing our currency!

Pete

PS If you scroll down the list of forums you'll find one for "anything else", probably a better place for a topic like this. Just for future reference

Keep the pound.

Everyone who is in a euro zone has commented how things have got dearer since the changeover. They stuffed us once with decimalisation, everything goes up 5p at a time now, they may as well do away with 1p and 2p coins.

yours, Pete

I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

i could live with euros if i had to, but not foreign control of interest rates, even if they would be lower. Interest rates in the UK are 4.5 i think now, and rising to control debt and inflation, in the euro zone they are much lower, which in my humble and ill educated opinion would over cook the economy.

Dollars are Notes and Coins

....but euros are deli sandwiches composed of a roasted lamb/beef mixture, with onions and tomatoes, topped with a creamy cucumber souce....and the whole mess stuffed into a pita.

This is a Dollar coin.....
