Is this reasonable ?

Hello All

Opinions please.

The CSR style wings are listed for £60 - you can see my query and the guy's response below.

Is this reasonable ? I don't know much about fibreglassing.

Anybody got any experience of the seller ?

I'm still trying to source a full set of fibreglass bodywork for the Locost in black.

Thanks

Rob

Dear wheels244,

Hi, if I did them in black I would have to charge £40 extra as I would have to buff them to a gloss finish. cheers

Dear shep3110,

Hi

I would like a pair of your cycle wings, but I would need them in black gel coat.
I know your listing states white only but I was wondering if you could accommodate my request.
I wouldn't want the spray the white ones as the inevitable stone chips would be very visible.

I look forward to your reply.

Thanks

Rob

hmm, kinda not really reasonable, however, getting a good smooth black finish will be difficult for him to do, the black shows up even the slightest ripple... he's probably saying an extra £40 on making some, they look cack, so he has to make them again.
this is exactly why i'm painting my car white. shows up nothing!

buy white, then paint black or as you say you can't, vinyl wrap i guess?

don't write OT on a new thread title, you're creating the topic, everything you write is very much ON topic!

Just a guess but he's probably made a batch of white ones, would have to buy black gel coat and make yours as a one off and can't really be bothered with the hassle for 60 quid...... to be fair I can see his point. Ask him if he's going to make a batch of black ones anytime soon

Thanks Paul

I have to speak to Danny soon anyway about adding a cage and getting some other bits off him that he gave me prices for a while ago.

I like the the look of their rear diffuser too.

I don't suppose any of their other panels will fit a Locost would they ?

I want to get all the panels from the same place if I can.

Rob

I know MK did supply locost bodywork, not sure if they still do, you will have to speak to Danny, I am sure he will do you a good deal if your buying a few items from them

From my experience with acrylic kitchen worktops, id agree black is a nightmare to polish up. Shows marks too much.
