Cutting the Bonnet

I need to make a Cut so my new Exhaust (over rail design) will Fit.

What is the best way to cut the Fibreglass ? Just a normal Hacksaw and steady as you go ?

Also, what sort of gap should I be looking at to clear the Exhaust manifold to prevent heat damage. Would like to finish the cut with a nice allytrim as well if there is anything out there.

Jigsaw with fine blade, dremmel type tools are also good and allow you to cut complex shapes. I always place masking tape on the f glass and draw on that then cut i would leave a 5mm gap at lease as you also have the engine movement to consider

Try to make gentle curves when you are cutting rather than angles. If you cant avoid this it's worth reinforcing with some glassfibre mat on the underside to reduce risks of stress cracks in the future.
