Tonneau cover on MK's
Hey guys, bit of an odd question, but i don't suppose anyone has tried fitting one of these race covers to an MK indy? I'm tempted to buy
one and see if i can make it fit. What do you think??

That fits the MK ethos, seemingly. I'm surprised they dont sell them!
Might be worth checking the cockpit dimensions of a caterham first? If they are grossly dissimilar, then it might be better to make one, or use vinyl
as the old MG's used to have.

Richard.

You'd be better off starting from scratch I wouild imagine, It appears to be a fairly simple bent sheet of ally.

what a price for a bent bit of sheet must take all of 3 mins to make that

Im sure it will be a very different shape-easier to start from scratch it only looks like just a bit of bent ali sheet.

I would doubt it will fit.. The catervan is quite a different shape.. And you are paying for catervan to make it fit a catervan... hooding and
pop-studs would be my first choice, you can then fold it up when you have a passenger.. Also I don't like the idea of driving around with a bit
of ally like that it's very thin and movable, it may well slice though things (well you) if you had a side impact?

I did see a Lotus Elise with a soft top cover made out of a material similar to lycra. Not sure about how waterproof you can get that though.

Neoprene over a skeleton frame would be my choice.

MK have these on their Indy R race cars they are a simple bit of ally bent to shape. The do affix a bar dash to Bulkhead as a support
If I made one I would angle it so it slopes to the side so water rolls off
Life is like a bowl of fruit, funny how all the weird looking ones are left alone
