Roll bar welding what is best? in NW.

Just a general question, what would you prefer when it comes to welding your roll bar, MIG or TIG.

I am talking of 45mm x 2.6mm wall. I can only do MIG and last time had to keep waiting for my welder to cool down so had stops and starts.

I am thinking of getting my replacement TIG'd hence the question really as I thought, it would be a better weld, but I guess that is down to the skill of the operator.

Any professional welders in the NW area?

Adrian

Welderman is your man... though he's up to his arm-pits in dirty nappies these days I believe.

I can only MiG and even that isn't good. I suspect half the reason TiG welds are better, is that only better skilled welders move on from MiG to do it in the first place; So there aren'tmany numpties like me doing it.

Hi Joe;

Not seen much of you in here, I had assumed your new baby would be keeping you very busy and giving you very little play time so had decided to leave you alone. I can just about remember what a life changing period it was when we had our first!

I have to drill the bottom tube for harness bushes next and hope to have that done this week. It takes me forever with my own commitments and the cold weather.
