Black exhaust
Hi guys I want to make my exhaust black just so it looks better and matches the theme of the car. Question is will the exhaust paint be good enough to
paint the silencer/cat and tailpipe? I've bought some black exhaust wrap to do the manifold upto the silencer.
Any pictures or advice

I painted my headers and link pipes with BBQ paint and it has lasted longer than the VHT Paint that was on!

I finished all the welded joints with a flap-disc in the angry grinder then 400 grit wet and dry. No primer just two or three coats of the BBQ paint I
think it was a Rustoleum product bought from Homebase.

I'd second the BBQ paint idea. I used black VHT paint first time and found it dried very grey and discoloured quickly. I redid mine with this
Plasticote stuff.
http://compare.ebay.co.uk/like/221243971247?var=gv<yp=AllFixedPriceItemTypes&var=sbar&_lwgsi=y&cbt=y&device=t&adtype=pla&
;crdt=0&ff3=1&ff11=ICEP3.0.0&ff12=67&ff13=80&ff14=65
And it turned out much better, was actually black and stayed black and ou could clean marks from water mud etc off it.

Not very locost but i had my manifold done by Zircotec in "primary black" Previously it had been wrapped but under the wrap it had gone
rusty. Left as it was im sure it would have rusted a hole eventually. I thought stainless pipes would have been resistant to rust, must be something
in the wrap.
