Fitting Screen Glass

And once again, just checking on an idea for fixing screen glass.

For reference, her's an earlier thread :- http://www.locostbuilders.co.uk/viewthread.php?tid=186010.

So my Caterham screen frame is 9.2mm wide, and with the rubber seal, this allows only for 4mm glass. However, if I dispense with the rubber seal, and use Sikaflex to bed in the glass, I could theoretically use 6mm laminated glass (which appears to be more readily available).

Would this work? Has anyone tried a similar glass fitting method?

Work-in-Progress: Changed to Zetec + T9. Still trying!!
