Does ordinary paint stripper work on car paint?

I want to completely strip and reprint the front bumper on my project car due to a paint reaction. Will ordinary paint stripper from B&Q work or do I have to get some special stuff?

I used the cheap b&q stuff to remove thick powder coat from a spring not long ago, so can't see why it wouldn't work. I did have to leave it over-night and agitate to expose the chemical to fresh coating, but it got the job done.

Thanks. Nitromors is doing a reasonable job, though it says on the tin not for car paint or plastic substrates.
