To swirl pot or not

Going to be plumbing my fuel tank next week and am wondering if i should add a swirl pot?. I'm not likely to be doing any track days and if i do only 1 or 2 a year at most. I'll be running a 2.0 zetec on R6 throttle bodies and MS. I have currently got 8mm fuel line and return ran through the tunnel ready and some braided fuel line coming next week.

adding a swirl pot will obviously cost more in fittings a 2nd pump and the pot itself. Is it worth the extra money. This is meant to be a Low cost build afterall.

cheers

I would add a 1" deep cup sized sump into the bottom of the tank then arrange the pickup so it draws from within this which will provide a 1/8 pint comfort zone in your situation.

My low pressure pump failed on an event so I bypassed it, my tank is set like this and it caused no issues so have not bothered to restore it.

I can't find the pic of mine, but that's what I did.
A small pot on the bottom of the tank, about 1" deep, 3 or 4" diameter, but crucially, only fed by a 1" hole, so fuel goes in easy by gravity, but can't slosh back out under cornering

don't write OT on a new thread title, you're creating the topic, everything you write is very much ON topic!

If you are using the standard flat bottom tank and intend on doing fast road and track I would say a swirl pot is very much needed with fuel injection. If you have a sumped tank then you won't.

Sump & baffles or swirl pot
My standard box tank with no sump or baffles needs a swirl pot for quick roundabouts, use to cut out or splutter just after the roundabout
