Making a bodywork for a single seater

Hi
Have I completely lost the plot
I'm looking at making new bodywork for my single seater
I'm thinking of covering the car with plastic sheets the forming the shape in chicken wire covered with papier-mashe
Remove brace with wood inside the smooth off outside with body filler and polish to use a buck for a fiberglass panel

Anyone tried it any thoughts before I make a mess😜

What I did was a fair amount of work;

but what your suggesting sounds like way more.

have you seen this thread
linky

I think you can go down the chicken wire direction but getting symmetry will be difficult with that kind of method. Even if you want to do the design freely without going down the CAD route I would still think some kind of wooden ribs would help.

There was also a mention of bendable mdf in another thread that might be easier to work with especially if you want some curves in one plane only.

good luck and keep us posted.

I have some old formula ford bodywork going cheap if that would give you a start?

I no longer run Furore Products or Furore Cars Ltd, but would still highly recommend them for Acewell dashes, projector headlights, dominator headlights, indicators, mirrors etc, best prices in the UK! Take a look at http://www.furoreproducts.co.uk/ or find more parts on Ebay, user names furoreltd & furoreproducts, discounts available for LCB users.
Don't forget Stainless Steel Braided brake hoses, made to your exact requirements in any of around 16 colours. http://shop.ebay.co.uk/furoreproducts/m.html?_dmd=1&_ipg=50&_sop=12&_rdc=1
