Day 5022 - the end is getting near

With lots of breaks in between I am 5022 days into my build. That must be getting close to a record.
The shape is smoothing out. The sides of the hood that show unfinished will be replaced with perforated metal to vent the turbo heat. I hope to get plates and paint in the next few weeks.

I remember the days with my Robin hood, bashing away to get the windscreen supports to follow the shape of the body . (sorry, just reminiscing - I don't have a kit car anymore)

Looks like you are doing a very nice job.

Don´t despair....
I had a visit yesterday from a friend that has just finished a porject Mustang. It took him 14 years to accomplish.
But he started WITH A COMPLETE CAR....
My build will be 10 years next September, and at the pace I´m going, it may take me another 5 or 6...
So even if your build is a record, It may not hold long....
Saying so, I don´t know if I want to be happy... Or sad....
Keep on going and enjoy build time...

Beware of what you wish.. for it may come true....

I'm definitely missing the 'project' aspect, even if it was just ongoing tinkering. you can always add bits here and there, or install your own DRL light setup etc learning the wiring/electronics on the way. Stuff you can't do on a normal car.

keep enjoying it.
