RAL Code Help

Does anyone know about RAL codes? I think the code for MK Indy Yellow is 3754 but I can't find this on any RAL colour charts on line. Does anyone know how I can check this?

I was palnnig on ordering a gelcoat repair kit from Eastcost Fibreglass to fill some damage in my tub and nosecose but don't want to end up with the wrong colour.

Thanks

Stu

Not really an answer to your question but my experience of RAL code colours is even if you have the correct code it doesn't mean the colour will match. I tried three different touch up paints, all with the same RAL code and the shades were all completely different from each other and none matched the car!

I had the same at work (construction) with architects specifying a colour by RAL, us ordering to that code and them coming to site and saying the colour is wrong, getting out their RAL swatches and seeing it completely different but then us getting out the paint can and showing it had the same RAL marked on it!

Thanks. TBH I'm not that bothered about a perfect match as long as it is reasonably close. How far out were they in your experience?

As an example google RAL3001 Signal Red and select images. That shows the range of colours that are all that same RAL varying from orange to pink and everything in between! Can't say its due to the screen colour representation as they are all being shown on the same screen!

Could it be EPX3754 - "Golden Yellow"

Golden Yellow appears to be RAL 1004 but as said - even 1004 seems to have a lot of variants!

^^ RAL colour codes are not the only option (its the just German system really)

here's one suppliers RAL shades (for gel coats etc.)
http://www.llewellyn-ryland.co.uk/ralcolours.html

but they also do the British BS5252 colours:
http://www.llewellyn-ryland.co.uk/bs5252.html

and there own 'standard' range:
http://www.llewellyn-ryland.co.uk/standardrange.html

the standard range from this lot is what DJ sportscars (ie. Dax) used to use so I know they are a decent match form mine, but I don't know who MK used?

if it is golden yellow 3754 then its also in the same std. range above ^
loads of places seem to sell these gel coats - just looks like east cost composites use a different pigment supplier...

or you could get just the pigment - but I doubt thats the cheapest option for the quantity you'll need:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Polycraft-Golden-Yellow-Polyurethane-Pigment/dp/B00GSUAIRQ/ref=sr_1_2?crid=TUG6I34H23AT&keywords=3754+golden+yellow&q id=1651055286&s=diy&sprefix=3754+golden+yellow%2Cdiy%2C65&sr=1-2-catcorr

Those are really useful links, thanks. At the risk of hijacking this thread for my own purposes, the llewellyn-ryland signal red is very different from their RAL3001 but seems much closer to my GTM's shade of red.

quite likely, a lot of manufacturers seem to have used llewellyn-ryland colours - but looking at them on screen is never going to give you an accurate colour unfortunately
