Suitable seats

I'm going to need to buy a pair of seats very soon. I know I need the type which have cut outs for the shoulder straps to pass through, and also adjustable runners.
What I am wondering, though, is the seat material. Leather is too expensive, so it's either vinyl or cloth. Vinyl can be a bit sweaty, but what happens to cloth seats if they get wet? Mine will be an open car and I might get caught in the rain?
Any thoughts, anyone?

John
i realy think vinyl seats are the only way to go in open top,at least its all wipe dry.I'm going to attempt to convert a pair of Bedford Rascal van seats, they are high back and slim so its a case of skinning them and covering with vinyl.
I'll have a go at making the harness slots from that square type downpipe you see on conservatories,i saw a car a couple of years ago with this and it looked OK.
