which rear arches?
Hi, after fitting my new wheels 7x17s the arches that i have (300mm wide) are now not wide enough i need some that are around 340mm wide. I have just
found that robin hood sell some for £70 per pair, they fit them to their lightweight car and they are of 2 piece construction ally and fibreglass
Has anyone seen or used them, what are they like, as robin hood say they are designed to be trimmed down to any size you want

heres a pic of the lightweight rear arches look good but i dont quite understand how the trimming back of ally can be done as it must have a return
edge on it to bolt to bodywork

I think you could do the same thing as on a Robin hood by chopping yours in half, and PU glueing and pop riveting an Al pannel in??

yes i have considered cutting and fibreglassing in an extension but after doing this to the nose cone i would rather not do it again as it was quite
time consuming and messy s
saying that though if robin hoods arches aren't that good then i will have to extend mine
does anyone know if robin hood will be at harrogate in august so i can have a good look at them there?

As Bluemoon has said - instead of cutting your rear arches and extending with fibreglass, you could PU a band of Ali in instead to get the same
appearance as the RH arches. The edges of the ali could be trimmed to make then nice and neat before bonding. The 'gap' that will be
underneath can be roughly glassed in to give it some strength back but this doesnt need to be pretty so will be quick to do.
I couldnt fancy extending with fibreglass to get an aesthetic finish either but the Ali idea sounds OK.

yes thinking about it rather than spending £70 on new arches i can get some ally for nowt and do it myself
