I've tried making it black, but it doesn't work too well. Bit pants really. Better suited to lighter and brighter colours I'm afraid.

Thats a photoshop effort isnt it ?

look at the strange blurred bushes around the roof line and you cant see through the wheels.

Yes. You might also notice that the reflection in the water is grey, not yellow.
