anything is possible but is it right. I've seen a 1.8TD providing the urge in the back of a VW Camper (1960 vintage)

The answer is Yes. Westfield offered this engine option in the early 90's. The TD engine is no bigger than a Pinto, and it's fitted to the same type 9 box, so no problem.

It also runs the 3.92 diff so there are no problems trying to match a very low ratio
