Ali or stainless rivets?
Hello,
I´ve read that you need to use stainless steel rivets to "bond" alu to the steel tubes.
Is this true?
Any experiences from using alu rivets?
I have a welded steel floor, but everything else will be alu.
Thank´s in advance.

If you are going to use a hand riveter, you are going to get tinseenotinitis, tenosetintous, tinisinitinitis,...........really bad wrist ache, S/S
rivets are hard as hell

most people seem to be using alu they are cheaper and easier to work with.
the long run only applies if you know you are gonna keep the car a long while.......
also, a lot of people use a bonding agent - like sikaflex - to help hold the alu to the frame between rivets.

I think I'll use SS rivets, the sound of 101 rivet heads jangling around in my chassis tubes would probably drive me insane. Plus I've got a air
driven hydraulic riveter, so I may as well make full use of that .
