Locost ali bonnet support on GTS nose cone
I've got the GTS nosecone fitted to a Locost with ali bonnet.
Because the nosecone is designed to fit the GTS bonnet it doesn't have a suitable return/flange on which to support the front of the bonnect.
All it has is a vertical (ish) return as can be seen in this picture from BKLOCO's car (thanks BKLOCO!).
Description Steering wheel
I need to fix something to this to support the bonnet and I'm after ideas of what to use. It needs to be something that can be
trimmed/fitted/bent to match the profile of the rear of the nose.
MDF springs to mind but will look crap. Guess MDF be sprayed? A nice ali billet would be lovely but too expensive. I guess I could use some ali
'L' section but that'll be hard to match to the profile of the rear of the nose.
Any hints or suggestions would be good.
Thanks,
James

Acrilic cut and shaped then glued/bolted to the vertical face of the nose cone - might look good - particularly in a transparent colour to match the
rest of the car??

Acrylic is a good idea and can be got in a variety of colours. Just heat it up and away you go.
Or a bit of ali strip bent to suit.

Hi i would fold a piece of ali 25 mm by 25 mm if you don't have access to a shrinking machine you could cut slots in one edge to shape the L
section to fit your nose hope this will make sense. Regards, Trev
