bonnet finished!

Right then, the bonnet is completed. The carbs were origianlly fitted with the foam type air filters that were replaced by K&N type. There was a bulge for them but this was removed, the hole patched over and the bonnet cut for the new protruding filters. There is some curvature in the plate forced by the fasteners to give a bit of extra height and seems to stiffen the bonnet up a bit.

Also a totally pointless air scoop was removed and a patch put in its place.

Lastly there is a vent, from B&Q, trimmed with sharp edges radiussed, to let out hot air from the exhaust manifold. After fitting I realised it would have been better sited more towards the front (through the vents you can see the red battery terminal cover) to be more above the exhaust manifold, oh well....

Cracking job!

That looks good considering youve taken bulges out. Far better than before. I might have been tempted to put another louvred plate instead of the smaller patch in front of current plate. After my run out at weekend i now realise you cant have too many air flow points!
