Pinto sump and oil pickup modification

Hi all,
This has been mentioned before but I've still not found any definate answers. I understand the sump needs cutting down to sit in-line with the bellhousing, and extended forwards to increase its volume. But, can the pickup just be bent or does it require special modification? And does the shortened sump require baffling and if so how much needs to sit inside it?

Thanks
Rob

you would need to cut and weld the pick up pipe. A bit of baffling would be a good idea as these cars can generate some g forces

Cheers

Mark

I used a RS2000 alloy sump on mine
It came from a ford breakers with pick up pipe and a dipstick
The RS sump has a wing on the side to make up the oil capacity and it is allready baffled
