Windscreen for Stuart Taylor Scuttle.

Big hairy b@ll@cks on fire............

Does anyone know what Windscreen fits the Stuart Taylor Motorsport scuttle?

I heard it was a Caterham screen but it ain't!! I know there's a wider Caterham but didn't think Caterham made a screen for that one.... Whatever it is- the screen that I've got sure doesn't fit!!! I went to get the new glass yesterday and wasn't given a choice which suggests there's only only one type!! Iv'e got 2-3cm gaps between the uprights and the scuttle sides.... Which look completely shit!

£130 for the Caterham screen (with glass that I then managed to smash), £80 for a new glass for it....

Boohoo... Going to go and kick something...
Somedays I wonder why I bother waking up....

For sure, I'll go back to the garage in a minute and measure up...
I think I might have bought the screen of a SV Can't understand why the normal glass seems to fit it though...

I was told by Ian Grey (at ST) that a cateringvan screen fits but he didn't say what type - I assume "standard".

Hope you get it sorted out

I e-mailed him and he says "narrow" which I assume means normal....
Apparantly the late 80s Caterhams have a narrower screen but I seriously hope its not that one....
Lets just hope I've got a wide bodied screen- at least that's easy to flog on ebay and get a normal one I'll go and measure up!!

Any possibility of measuring what the maximum of the windscreen is ie at the bottom of the lower metal curve

my one comes in at 91cm... but from the position of the scuttle I need about 87/88cm... Confused....

The one I got from Lolocost is 89.5cm at it's widest point. (As fitted to the light weight)

Hi Giys,

Lovely Westfield wheels, 14x6, I had 10 and they cost me £160 for all of them! I've written one off in a spin since

Yep 7" headlights - mounted a bit too high then. I re-mounted them lower. I wanted a classic Se7en look not a race-rep' Se7en look.

I'll measure my screen this afternoon and get back to you.

Ok, U2U sent. For everyone else;

My screen is 90cm across the widest part at the bottom of the screen. The screen and scuttle are NOT a perfect match and I have 5-10mm gap between the bottom corner of the screen and the scuttle.

It's well hidden once the side supports and rubber strip are fitted though so no problem in practice.

Cheers. All sounds like it should fit. Strange my gaps are so big- I'll try giving it some gentle adjustment!!!! Perhaps changing the uprights will help- did you use the standard Cat ones?

All standard Caterham bits - I'll take a close-up picture of the corners and post it when I get a minute.

Ok, I finally got round to doing this. See picture below;

There is a slight difference between the Caterham screen curvature and the ST scuttle shape - but the gap is almost impossible to see once the screen is on the car. It was a 'right fiddle' to get this picture
